Intervention improvement
From the tutorial, the tutor suggested I change the comparison group from last proposed intervention 1:
First, select a group of individuals willing to participate, preferably those who have previously shown an interest in or belief in divination.
Split into two groups: Randomly divide this group into two categories, namely the experimental group and the control group. Ensure that the grouping process is random to avoid bias.
Experimental Group: Participants in the experimental group will receive divination services, such as astrology, tarot card readings, crystal ball predictions, etc. Ensure that the diviners are legitimate professionals.
Control Group 1: Participants in the control group will receive a simulated treatment, meaning they will not actually undergo divination, but they will be given similar time and attention as the experimental group.
Control Group 2: Fake divination group which chooses the same participant from the experimental group who does not use divination before the gambling and makes the comparison with experimental group.
Predicting Results: After the divination and simulated treatment, ask all participants about their feelings, beliefs, and emotional states. Collect data through questionnaires or face-to-face interviews to understand whether their perceptions and beliefs have changed.

Interviewee 1 – Jackie: Gambler who had tried to use divination in gambling
Interviewer: Hello, Jackie. Thank you for taking the time to discuss the relationship between divination and gambling with us. Let’s start with some background. Can you tell us about your experience with divination and gambling?
Interviewee: Of course. I’ve been interested in divination for several years, mainly using methods like tarot card readings and astrology. On the other hand, I occasionally gamble, usually at a casino or with friends in a casual setting.
Interviewer: That’s great to know. In your experience, do you believe there’s a connection between divination and gambling?
Interviewee: Yes, I do. For me, divination often informs my decisions when it comes to gambling. When I get a positive reading or feel like the stars are aligning, I’m more likely to place bets. On the contrary, if the divination results aren’t favorable, I might reconsider or skip gambling altogether.
Interviewer: Interesting. So, it sounds like divination can influence your gambling choices. Can you describe how these practices impact your emotions or mindset during gambling?
Interviewee: Absolutely. When I get a favorable divination result, I feel more confident and optimistic. It’s like I believe that the universe is on my side, which can be empowering. On the other hand, if the divination isn’t favorable, it might make me a bit hesitant or anxious about gambling. I’ve also noticed that I’m more likely to blame the divination when I don’t win. It’s almost like I’m shifting responsibility away from myself.
Interviewer: That’s an interesting perspective. Have you ever observed these influences with other people who practice divination and gambling?
Interviewee: Yes, I’ve noticed similar behaviors among friends who also dabble in both divination and gambling. When they receive positive divination results, they tend to be more enthusiastic about gambling. And, like me, they sometimes blame the divination if things don’t go well in a game or casino.
Interviewer: It’s intriguing how divination can play a role in the gambling experience. Finally, do you think there’s any way to mitigate these influences or use them more positively?
Interviewee: I think the key is awareness. Being aware of how divination can affect our decisions in gambling is crucial. If we recognize that it’s ultimately a form of entertainment and not a guaranteed way to win, we can enjoy both practices without overreliance. Also, practicing responsible gambling is essential.
